Hung Kuen Kung FuGert Nel learned from the renowned Sifu Rafi Anteby who is a direct student of the Hong Kong based Grandmaster Cheng Yee Keung. It consists of 4 unarmed forms and 3 armed forms combining traditional with modern exercise. It works in pace according to personal requirements.Benefits include a dramatic increase in physical fitness, stress reduction, weight management, better sleep, improved digestion, higher energy levels, decreased risk of injury in day to day life, alertness, increase in self discipline and focus. Origin During the era of the Ching dynasty, the shaolin temple was destroyed by the Ching armies. A single monk, Chee Sin, survived the destruction. Hung Hee Gung became one of of his students, Hung found that the tiger style fighting techniques were well suited to him and soon became famed for his fighting prowess. During his travels, Hung met a women, Fong Wing Chun. She had developed her own style based on the graceful movements of the crane. They each found that the other's style complimented their own, so they merged the two styles together to form what is now Tiger/Crane of Hung Gar Kung-Fu. Childrens Classes Kung-Fu is well suited for children as it improves co-ordination, confidence and discipline, while remaining very much on the practical side of martial arts, meainging children interact with other children, on boxing pads, kicking pads, learning skipping for co-ordination, and using other martial arts equipment on a daily basis. |
