After Sascha Ernst arrived in SA he conducted a threat accessment and recognized the WT which he had learned had to be adjusted to fit the needs of the present South Africa. Different threat, different cultural weapons and behaviour forced a change in training methods and emphasis. Not that the brilliant techniques or concepts were changed which made WT so succesful. It had to be faster, more direct and uncompromising. More free fighting, fitness and tactical weapons were included. The extremely daring South Africa created WingTsun x-treme.
